"Actually, this seems to be the basic need of the human heart in nearly every great crisis — a good hot cup of coffee." — Alexander King
I couldn’t agree more with Alexander King. A cup of coffee comes to the rescue for me on so many occasions. I pour a cup of liquid gold in the morning to kickstart my day or grab a latte after lunch to fight the 3 o’clock slump. I also might take a tiny cup of hot espresso after dinner. As they say, coffee is liquid gold. With a reputation like that, coffee deserves a little extra attention.
Today, I’m sharing all things coffee. No matter your level of coffee expertise, there is always something new you can learn about our beverage of choice.
Food and Coffee Pairing
Coffee and donuts are a match made in heaven. Luckily for us, coffee pairs well with so many foods. Let’s check out some natural and not-so-ordinary partners for our cuppa joe.
donuts - Anything from a traditional glazed donut to a baked pumpkin donut hole will pair perfectly with your morning mug.
scones - Maple Pecan Scones have a dense, flaky texture with a warm and nutty flavor that tastes great with coffee.
quiche and toast - Whip up a simple quiche with leftover veggies and bacon or sausage, add a piece of toast, and pour a cup for a grand and cozy breakfast.
muffins - This White Chocolate Raspberry Muffin Mix is a unique twist on your standard muffin.
cheesecake - A rich Pumpkin Cheesecake is just begging for a mug full of coffee and a cozy sweater.
