The Slow Cooker is the Secret to Less Time in the Kitchen

Posted by

Have you ever walked into the kitchen after a long day and secretly wished that a fully cooked meal was waiting for you? I have to admit, I’ve had this thought from time to time.

Well, I haven’t yet had my wish granted. But, I have come home to savory dinners waiting in my kitchen. How did I pull that off, you ask? My answer lies in the crock pot. The slow cooker has been all the rage recently, and I have to join in on the fan fest. My slow cooker is my best friend. Why do I love it so much? Let me count out the ways:

Why a slow cooker is your secret weapon in the kitchen: Select Brands Rooster Slow Cooker

  1. They do all the work for you. The most work you’ll have to do is a little chopping. Most slow cooker recipes just need you to grab the ingredients and pour them in. While you’re doing your thing during the day, the crockpot does all the magic as your ingredients simmer and meld together or roast to perfection. What’s the secret to a well-seasoned soup? Add a few extra ingredients and let our corn chowder simmer in the crock pot all day, and you’ll know why the slow-cooking method is so special.
  2. They save you loads of time. As the old catchphrase points out, these magical appliances let you “set it and forget it”. That means that instead of spending nearly an hour cutting, chopping, stirring, and watching the pot, you can spend just a few minutes prepping. Then, your dish is ready to be served - when you and your family are ready to eat. Timing is simpler when you use the slow cooker, because it won’t hurt if your meal stays in the pot a little longer!
  3. They prep everything from basic soups to more involved meals. The classic beef stew is not the only dish you can serve up from your slow cooker. Take a look at pinterest and you’ll find all kinds of recipes. You can slow cook your baked potatoes, make delicious dips for a party, or whip up a spaghetti squash and meatballs. You can even create a sweet dessert. The ideas are endless.
  4. Clean up is a breeze. You only have one pot to clean up at the end of the night. Forget scrubbing the casserole dish, loading the dishwasher and hand-washing the knives and hand mixer. There’s only one dish to worry about! If you want to make it extra easy, you can grab a box of crock pot liners to make it even less messy.
